Throwback Thursday: Metabolic LDL Clinical Study

In 2015, the team at the Hughes Center for Research and Innovation conducted a clinical study intended to examine the safety and efficacy of the Metabolic LDL formula. The Study

Eleven subjects between the ages of 38 and 65 were selected to participate in the study based upon their body mass index, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, and triglyceride levels. All participants were instructed to take two capsules of Metabolic LDL with dinner each day for 12 weeks.

At the end of the 12-week period, the following significant changes were observed in all subjects:

7.3% reduction in total cholesterol
10% reduction in LDL-cholesterol
7.1% reduction in non-LDL cholesterol
26% reduction in cholesterol/HDL
2.8% reduction in apolipoprotein B

At the start of the study, eight of the 11 subjects had HbA1c levels of 5.4 or higher. These individuals experienced the following additional significant changes:

27% reduction in triglycerides
19% reduction in oxLDL
25% reduction in LDL/HDL
27% reduction in triglycerides/HDL
25% reduction in oxLDL/HDL
37% reduction in PAI-1

Study Results

The study concluded that Metabolic LDL "was clinically well-tolerated and effective… in subjects with moderate cardio metabolic risk factors, particularly in the individuals with HbA1c > 5.4%.""
